It looks like AMC is trying to continue their trend of high-quality TV productions with a new psychological thriller by Pi/Reqiuem for a Dream mastermind Darren Aronofsky. The series, Riverview Towers, is about a family who moves into a supposedly haunted apartment. Other talent on board includes John J. McLaughlin (screenwriter of Aronofsky's upcoming Black Swan), and Monster director Patty Jenkins.
As a fan of Aronofsky, I can't help but be excited for this project. While he's certainly a brilliant director, the biggest problem with him (and many other young and visionary directors) is that he's not nearly as prolific as many feel he should be. With a TV series under his supervision we'll be able to see more creative output from him, and being on AMC it will surely have production levels on par with Mad Men.
