Have you been wondering what Tony Kaye's been up to since he burned every bridge he had over the American History X release fiasco? Well, evidently, he's regressed to the point of making awkward, uncomfortably bad experimental student films.
In this short for Mean Magazine, he intends to take you through a "ride of sexual misperception" with stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, while paying homage to the subject of the upcoming Kevin Smith flick, Zach and Miri Make A Porno.
Behold, Tony Kaye's short film... This Is Not Sex.
Observation #1 - What the fuck!?
Observation #2 - Um, this really isn't going to help sales for Zack and Miri.
Observation #3 - It's hard to complain too much when you have Elizabeth Banks pretending to orgasm loudly.
Observation #4 - Wait, why was Seth Rogen wearing lady's garments during a segment of the video?
So, on the whole, I think what we can take away from this exercise in cinema is... well, I guess it's important to focus on... see, um, the general thesis of this endeavor is clearly... uh... Nevermind. Forget it.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno is scheduled to be released two weeks from now on October 31, 2008. Tony Kaye's new film, Black Water Transit (his first feature narrative since American History X), is currently in post production and awaiting a release date.
