Guy Ritchie Back from the Dead? Directing "Sherlock Holmes"

Whatever happened to Guy Ritchie? How did one of the most kinetic directors in the business reduce himself to crap like Swept Away and Revolver? Of course Madonna deserves a majority of the blame, but I really wonder what else led to Ritchie's dramatic downfall.

I can only hope that his next project, a revival of Sherlock Holmes, brings him back to his glory days. Apparently this new Holmes will emphasize his ability to kick ass, in addition to his epic intellect. While I'm all for Guy Ritchie kicking ass, I can't help but think this may just be an easy way to dilute the character for modern audiences.

The project is aiming for a 2010 release. This will definitely be something we'll be keeping a close eye on.
